THE NEWSLETTER READER'S FORUM

The forum attached to the Computachem E-Newsletter is designed to stimulate dialogue and debate on any or all of the ideas presented in each edition. We do not edit or screen the content of the items posted, but we do reserve the right to delete any matter that is socially offensive.

Before using the forum, take the time to check out all the links to see what they do.

You can make as many postings as you require, and you can edit comments at any time (only you can edit your comments).

Registration is not required to view current topics on the Forum.
You can post topics anonymously without registering, simply by using the login "anon" and the password "anon".
You can also register under a pseudonym to retain some sense of identity.
(Note that if you do not want to disclose your e-mail address in this form of registration, you should use admin@computachem.com.au )
If you would like to remain identified, then please enter a normal registration at the link on the forum site, as illustrated below.
Whichever form of ID you choose, you will need to establish a password, if you wish to post a new topic, or reply to an existing topic (unless you use "anon").

Go to the registration link located at the top right hand corner of the forum page. Registration is free and only takes a few minutes.

The only required fields are your UserName, which may be your real name or a nickname, and a valid e-mail address. The information you provide during registration is not passed on to any other person. If you believe someone is sending you advertisements as a result of the information you provided through your registration, please notify us immediately.

Active Topics are tracked by cookies. When you click on the "active topics" link, a page is generated listing all topics that have been posted since your last visit to these forums (or approximately 20 minutes).

To post a topic,click on the issue number of the newsletter you wish to access. Existing messages and their responses are then shown, and at the foot of each entry, you will see an icon entitled "Reply to Topic". Click on this icon and you are ready to type in your material.
When finished, click on the "submit" button, and your message will be displayed.

You may edit or delete your own posts at any time.

Just go to the topic where the post to be edited, or deleted, is located, and you will see a edit or delete icon on the line that begins "posted on..." Click on this icon to edit or delete the post.
To produce different effects, coloured texts and to utilise grahic effects, go to the FAQ link which will describe how this is done.

No one else can edit your post, except for the forum Moderator or the forum administrator.
You may search for specific posts based on a word or words found in the posts, user name, date, and particular forum(s). Simply click on the "search" link at the top of most pages.

You may easily change any information stored in your registration profile by using the "profile" link located near the top of each page. Simply identify yourself by typing your UserName and Password and all of your profile information will appear on screen. You may edit any information (except your UserName).

Retrieving your UserName and Password is simple, assuming that email features are turned on for this forum. All of the pages that require you to identify yourself with your UserName and Password carry a "lost Password" link that you can use to have your UserName and Password mailed instantly to your email address of record.
